Personal attention is the key to success
The civil service exams are conducted by UPSC in India for recruitment of various designated posts .i.e. IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IRS (Indian Revenue Service).
To appear in UPSC civil service exam, a candidate must hold a degree from any recognize university.
The UPSC civil service exam is conducted in three phases and they are preliminary exam, mains exam, and personality test/interview.
To clear preliminary exam, an aspirant must crack:
i) Paper –I (General Studies: duration- 2 hours, marks- 200)
ii) Paper- II (Civil Services Aptitude Test: duration-2 hours, marks-200)
Candidates who crack these both papers are eligible to give mains exam
To clears mains exam, an aspirant has to crack 9 papers, which and subjective and descriptive in nature:
i) General Studies Paper- 1
ii) General Studies Paper-2
iii) General Studies Paper-3
iv) General Studies Paper-4
v) Optional Subjective Paper-1
vi) Optional Subjective Paper-2
vii) Language Paper
Among them two papers are qualifying in nature and other are other are being ranked.
After fulfilling the mains exam criteria, candidates are called for the final stage of this process i.e. personality test/interview, which is of 275 marks. The test is intended to evaluate the mental caliber of a candidate.
Rank is given on the basis of mark obtained by a candidate in mains exam and in interview. In short, it is not easy to clear CSE exam, you need to consistent, and hardworking. And always be curious to learn new things and implement them.
